Dodgers Set Their Sights High: A Bold Move for Pitching Reinforcements

    Dodgers Nation

The Los Angeles Dodgers are on the brink of an impressive achievement: winning three World Series championships in a row. By securing Edwin Diaz and Kyle Tucker during the offseason, they’ve tackled their major concerns from the previous campaign. With their already stacked pitching lineup, the Dodgers are eyeing further enhancements.

MLB insider Jon Heyman from The New York Post has reported that the Milwaukee Brewers are considering trading Freddy Peralta, a talented right-hander. Following the exercise of his $8 million club option for 2026, he has gained significant attention. Multiple franchises are vying for his skills, intensifying the competition for the Dodgers.

“Brewers continue to field offers on ace pitcher Freddy Peralta, a free agent after 2026. Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, Giants, and Braves among many interested teams. Peralta $8M salary means anyone can afford, including Brewers, but extension tougher for small markets,” Heyman shared through X on Saturday.

Peralta has elevated his market value significantly this past season, posting a career-best performance. With 33 starts, he tallied a remarkable 5.5 bWAR over 176.1 innings, encountering a 2.70 ERA, and leading the National League with a 17-6 record.

Dodgers to Retain Teoscar Hernández Despite Signing Kyle Tucker

Alden Gonzalez from ESPN has confirmed that the Dodgers have no plans to trade Teoscar Hernández, despite their recent acquisition of Kyle Tucker. Instead, Hernández will transition to left field, while Tucker takes over in the opposite corner.

“The addition of Tucker could potentially push the Dodgers to trade corner outfielder Teoscar Hernández, but a source familiar with the team’s thinking said that is not necessarily a foregone conclusion. The team can easily shift Hernández from right field to left, with Andy Pages remaining the everyday center fielder and utility man Tommy Edman, coming off ankle surgery, entrenched as the second baseman,” Gonzalez noted on Friday.

Hernández had a stellar 2024 season with the Dodgers, clinching the Home Run Derby alongside a World Series title. Despite a challenging 2025 after rejoining the squad on a three-year, $66 million deal, the desire for championship success remains palpable within the team.
