Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has been ordered to pay $14,000 per month in child support for a son he testified he has never met.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Edwards must make the monthly payments to Alexandria Desroches, with whom he shares a son named Amir, born in 2023.

The amount was determined in part using Edwards’ reported monthly income of nearly $4.8 million. It represents a significant increase from the baseline child-support calculation of roughly $3,200 per month, though Desroches had sought an even larger payment.

The court documents reportedly list Desroches’ monthly income at $1,016. She testified that she hopes to finish college to improve her ability to support their son.

Edwards, meanwhile, was found to have substantial monthly expenses of his own. According to TMZ, the court noted that the NBA star spends roughly $31,000 per month on food, $70,000 on entertainment and $30,000 on vacations.

The $14,000 monthly payment isn’t Edwards’ only financial obligation in the case.

A judge also ordered him to obtain a life insurance policy worth approximately $2.6 million, with Desroches named as the primary beneficiary. Edwards was additionally ordered to pay more than $21,000 in her legal fees.

Perhaps the most striking detail involves Edwards’ relationship with his son.

According to the documents, the NBA star testified under oath that he has never met Amir in person and isn’t seeking parenting time.

Edwards is also paying child support in a separate case. TMZ previously reported that he was ordered to pay roughly $3,000 per month to Ayesha Howard for their daughter.

For the Timberwolves star, this latest ruling alone amounts to $168,000 a year in child support.
