The Milwaukee Brewers took a commanding 3-0 lead against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 3 of the 2026 National League Championship Series. Jake Bauers and Garrett Mitchell showed the way for the NL Central champions, connecting back-to-back home runs off Blake Snell to reclaim the lead in the seventh inning.
The Brewers never looked back and got one step closer to the 2026 World Series. Snell and Co. couldn’t respond after that inning, with the offense only managing two runs. Fans in the stadium were unhappy with the result, while others took things to a new level.
Threat Explicitly Tied To Sports Betting Loss After Snell’s Outing
In the aftermath of the game, Snell’s wife, Haeley, shared a terrible message she received from a fan. She shared a screenshot of a threatening message.
“It’s simple: tell that son of a b***h to back off before October 20th. Otherwise, I’ll cut off your fingers, one by one. I don’t care about spending 40k to track you down, you b***h. He has until October 20th. Consider yourself warned.”
Haeley captioned it “Tell me you lost a sports bet without telling you lost a sports bet.”
Sports betting culture has turned into something dark for some people. The caption was just Haeley’s speculation, but it is not hard to imagine the threat was linked to a lost bet.
Game 4 could be the final one of the Dodgers’ season. They could emulate the 2004 Boston Red Sox and come back from a 0-3 deficit, but that doesn’t seem likely ahead of Thursday’s duel.
