Milwaukee Bucks player Tyler Herro has made some brief comments about a reported physical altercation with former Miami Heat teammate Bam Adebayo.
He has noted that he would like to shift his focus to an opportunity to play a key role for his hometown team instead of discussing the incident in which he reportedly took a blow to the head area.
“Honestly, I’m just trying to move past all of it,” Herro said about the incident to ESPN. “I’m focused on Milwaukee and building something special. They obviously just traded the greatest player in their history, so we want to come in and help continue what they’ve been doing.”
This altercation reportedly occurred last Friday on a practice court in Las Vegas, Nevada. Adebayo reportedly approached Herro about critical comments made on social media about whether he had justified his $60 million salary.
Adebayo, for his part, has previously made comments suggesting that Herro needed to fit in better with the new offensive scheme in Miami.
ESPN’s sources said that Herro responded in a way that Adebayo did not appreciate, so the confrontation turned physical. He reportedly struck Herro in the chin area and then others stepped in to prevent the situation from escalating further.
ESPN’s Shams Charania broke the news about the altercation during the Summer League games. He continued to provide more details as the week progressed, and then the NBA ultimately weighed in. The league said that it would not take further action against either player involved.
“After discussing with the players involved and the NBPA, everyone would prefer to move on from this unfortunate circumstance, and no further action will be taken by the league,” an NBA spokesperson said.
The altercation is over, and the NBA has ruled that it will not take any disciplinary action. Now, both players will move on with their respective teams. They will no longer suit up and push toward a common goal. They will just meet as opponents the next time the Heat play the Bucks.
